We were looking for a dinner type place that still served breakfast last 10 am in Anchorage, Alaska and we found Heidi's. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The food was ready in a timely manner. The place was cozy, decorated with pictures of wild life found in Alaska.

Overall 4 Stars! Stopped by on a Sunday during lunch and after church timeframe, and the place was hopping. Fortunately we were able to be seated immediately. 4 Stars - The place is very spacious with many tables and a bar to seat at. They can accommodate a single up to twelve people at a time. Probably can hold up to 100 or more patrons. This is a no frills breakfast / lunch place which has a lot of items for breakfast and lunch. We stuck to the breakfast items. Server: 4 Stars Our server was pleasant, friendly, had a wonderful smile and helpful with some recommendations. She would have received a higher star rating but we didn't get any utensils or straws until we asked for it. She apologized due to the bustling breakfast crowd. The other staff were wonderful and efficient and they help each other out when needed. Food: 4 - 4.5 Stars 1. Short Stack Pancakes: 4.5 Stars. The three Pancakes were large, about 10 inch in diameter and they were light and fluffy. They melt in your mouth and didn't leave any aftertaste. It was slightly sweet and salty. The syrup and patted butter made it even better. I couldn't make any better. Definitely want to know their "secret" for fluffiness. 2. Ultimate Breakfast: 4 Stars. Two large biscuits smothered in sausage gravy, two eggs ( anyway you like), and four slices of bacon or sausage links. NOTE: Request to do two bacon and two sausages if you want the best of two worlds. Yummy! I would have bumped the biscuits and gravy slightly higher but the gravy was a little sweet. I had to add black pepper and Tabasco sauce to make it how I like it. Even without the Tabasco, it needed black pepper. Even my sister agreed and she doesn't like a lot of spicy food. 3. Kids Waffle and Bacon: 4 Stars - four slices of French Toast, slightly sprinkled with powder sugar and served with two healthy slices of bacon. My niece it tastes wonderfully and not overly sweet or eggy. Her eyes were quite large when she saw the two thick slices of bacon. LOL They have large selection of lunch items too. We will definitely be back to taste the other food items. So yummy! If you leave hungry then you must have ordered from the Kids menu!

Great spot for brekkie and lunch! The portions are huge and generous. There's lots of seating available and the space is huge. The Reindeer Sausages were seasoned well and very filling with 3 eggs (sunny side up, over easy, etc), hash potatoes, and toast (choice of sourdough, wheat, white, rye, etc). The staff are very friendly and attentive. The fried halibut tasted delicious and the broccoli cheese side was a generous amount of soup, heavy on the cheese! The bathroom floors were a little slippery, so be careful.

Partook once again upon our departure from Alaska as their food was consistent! The one thing that really lacks on this restaurant is the service the servers are sweet as can be but tend to converse quite a bit with each other & Forget that they have tables & rarely come & check on water, coffee, ketchup etc... so we had to ask for those things both times we were there to dine. And the restaurant was pretty sparse so no reason that they couldn't tend to ALL customers in the establishment. So service primarily was reason for 4 stars. If they got the service aspect in check they Defly have 5 star ability!

Quite possibly the best omelette I've eaten at a diner in a very long time. Fluffy eggs encase fresh vegetables and gooey cheese. It was even good the next day! I got two gigantic pancakes. The skillet was also very tasty. You will not leave unsatisfied or hungry. Clean and spacious dinning area. Tables were cleaned promptly! Our server was friendly and quick. She never let our coffee or waters get too low.

Woke up and decided to try a new breakfast place on Sunday. We always go to a place in East Anchorage but like I said we wanted to try a new place. I came across this jewel. It wasn't crowded or as busy as I thought it would be, but it also was before church let out. We sat down and took our time looking over the menu, even though I kind of knew what I wanted since i looked it up on Yelp. I was waiting for the market to open at 11 so we had over an hour before they opened. We finally made our order and sat back and waited. It didn't take long for the mozzarella sticks to come out. They were hot and delicious, even though there was no cheese pull. We ate a few then the main attraction came out. My sister got the strip and eggs, hash browns crispy, and a pancake. That pancake was worth the drive over alone! The steak was cooked perfect except the food wasn't hot. I got the farmers skillet. It came with 2 eggs, hash browns, mushrooms, peppers, onions, ham, bacon and sausage topped with country gravy. I did ask for the gravy on the side since I wasn't sure I would like it. I tasted it and yeah I wasn't feeling it, so I added a little salt and pepper and still not liking it. So added a little hot sauce and it was still a no. The food was delicious but again my food wasn't hot, not even like warm. The only thing that was hot was the egg on top. The gravy wasn't even that warm either. We still ate the food but I did tell the waitress that the food didn't come out hot. I told her it's fine we are still eating the food because it's delicious. We will be back for sure because I need me a stack of those pancakes on my next trip.
